After all, who wants to remember peeing their pants several times when they were potty training?

    • Ahhhh.. I do have one memory that's earlier... - Message Board, Sun Apr 26 2020 12:07am
It's chained from an old post referencing a now lost post but I can remember from Jan 3, 2005! https://nediscapp.herokuapp.com/discussion.cgi?disc=46108&article=5078
      • Of the board I apparently took on 2005-12-29. I'm not really sure why I did it. Maybe it was a wget test? I have the thread bodies too but they're not linked. Maybe I should import them into this site just to have them for the heck of it. Upload the index page as it takes up little space:... more
        • I manually imported all those posts... never again. - Erik_, Tue Apr 27 2021 12:53pm
I imported all those posts that were in the wget dump from December 2005 one by one by hand and then linked the parent ids and thread activity... It was some mind numbing work. If I come across anymore stuff like this or maybe from archive.org I'm writing a Python script to do it. haha Anyway... more

It was well worth the time to import.
            • Well worth the time to import. Haha. But seriously, I also thought it was interesting when I saw the "Forces" post. What are the chances that the Hobby Lobby post and that one just so happened to be on the random one page snapshot I had buried in a hard drive backup from 16 years ago? It also ... more
              • Why was I even talking about hobby lobby? - Retna, Fri May 21 2021 8:31pm
Also, I did not know the origin story of "forces act when not restrained" haha
                • I wonder if there was anything in the post... - Retna, Fri May 21 2021 8:33pm
https://nediscapp.herokuapp.com/discussion.cgi?disc=46108&article=37292 Probably just a dumb rant.
                  • It was the thread that lead me down this whole 'importing' rabbit hole. Wow. haha Anyway, it's imported now. https://nediscapp.herokuapp.com/discussion.cgi?disc=46108&article=37292 Edit: There were actually like 4 other threads I missed the thread body in. They're impor... more

I load their 40% coupon when I go there for the occasional combination of time wasting and train stuff looking at.
                      • Does yours also do the 1/2 off certain sections - Erik_, Sat May 29 2021 2:51pm
Based on what day it is? The one by me does (or did... It's been a while since I was there). I was only really worth buying the things that were on sale. It would just stink to drive out there for some cheap cabinet knobs or something just to find out that they're half off tomorrow.
                        • I don't think they do... But I usually go there like twice a - Puckdropper, Wed Jun 02 2021 4:32am

It's thankfully been much less frequent since Covid and the baby though. I don't "hate" the place, there's just nothing really there that actually interests me. I feel like at best I get 25%-40% interested in something I stumble upon at that store. My wife? 110% on everything in every aisle. We'r... more

Same here... Only about 3 aisles are interesting, the rest are all decorations and stuff women like. I can be in and out in 15 minutes, having seen everything of interest twice. I try not to take my wife to the hardware store for the same reason... Bored wife = not good.
                    • Thanks, got it... - Retna, Tue May 25 2021 11:21pm
Yeah I vaguely remember writing that. I did go to hobby lobby. I did buy something and I was waiting in line. There were lots of old people and women and children all around me. Haha this is my memoir thank you for reading.

                  • It might have been... When did I get real hosting? - Puckdropper, Mon May 03 2021 12:31am
Um, 2016 with Inmotion Hosting, but I had someone else before that. Maybe it was the Godaddy reseller account? I'm pretty sure it was gone when I had real hosting. I'll say it was gone between 2001 and 2005. Oh and I moved the thread up... We should randomly like once a random number of mon... more

I'd have to pull the whois up to see how long I've had puckdroppersplace.us. At least it'd be reliable. I'd say we lost most the users when UCL closed the first time. Rebuilding, it was never the same again. The only real reason it's hanging around is because the space is already paid for. I bet the last site update was something like 4 years ago.

It would be nice to be able to remember family members that may have passed that you knew when you were young though. Like, I only have 1 or 2 "flash" memories of my grandmother before she was in the nursing home and still had her memory.
