I do not believe Wyatt's intentions were to test any law. The victims of Wyatt's claim-jumping scheme had to file law suits against him. By the time the court got around to separating the wheat from the chaff, Wyatt had left Idaho with whatever ill-gotten gains he reaped from the mines.

In all of the cases, the court ruled against Wyatt. However, the court did not get around to ruling until two or three years after the suits were filed.
