Eating in Tombstone?
Wed Nov 10, 2021 3:44

Hello, Sarah

Welcome to Tombstone, but I have to tell you as a resident, I am not impressed with Tombstone's quisine. It is a crap-shoot as they say and there is not much selection. I guess the Long Horn is the safest place with the largest selection and it does have Mexican. Try to sit by a window as I find the dark ceiling too confining.
Hope I can help with something more positive if you need it.
Try to take in some of the old buildings. They are interesting if you can see past all the parked cars. The courthouse is definitely worthwhile.
Best, Joyce

Hi, folks. It’s been awhile since I visited the board. Fun reading all the latest stuff. I need to listen to the Tefertiller podcast! I’m in Tombstone today and tomorrow, showing my husband around.... more

Longhorn is the best, with many types of food including some Mexican. OK Café best for breakfast. Palace and Kates are OK.

Frankly, it is nice that so many of you are enjoying pleasant memories of good eats in Tombstone. The town needs that kind of appreciation. I rarely eat in town, maybe once a year when a friend comes to... more

Thank you, Sarah, for your supporting comments and observations. I do love Tombstone; have lived here 19 years in the house lived in by Judge Moses first and then the Lutleys. Mrs. Lutley lived here till... more

Haven't had a bad meal at the Longhorn. The food at the Crystal Palace is as good or better, and the decor is much better. Don't eat at Vogan's unless you're starving to death- literally.

      • Hi Joyce!Sarah Stegall, Wed Nov 10 2021 19:28
Thanks for the recommendation. We are eating all our meals at the Longhorn, with digressions into one or more saloons for a sarsaparilla. I saw your book about the Cowboys in a store window. But I was... more

Joyce, every time I come to Tombstone the restaurant in Nellie Cashman's boarding house building has changed management and menus. How's the one in that space, now?

Hello Stranger! Frankly, I almost never go 'in town' anymore as I am so disgusted with the way it is going downhill as far as maintaining the history goes. Nellie Cashman's is being converted into a... more
