I don't think we have enough hard evidence to say Behan did ply Kate with liquor to get her to tell what she knew of Doc's actions on the day of the attempted robberies and murder, but I wouldn't see anything wrong if he had. We are talking about two murders here and if Behan thought Kate might have incriminating evidence against Doc it would not. in my opinion, be unethical or sleazy to employ a friendly drink or two or three to loosen her lips. It would only be unethical if Johnny already had information proving Doc's innocence.
