Keefe said the gun he identified from the little house (Smith and Wesson) was seen by him in the Coroners office over lunch.
The Coroner then placed the two Colts from his office on the table and Keefe was asked to re-identify the one he had identified in the /Coroners office and at the little house where Tom died as the S&W. He did that and then , when asked to examine the gun and see if it was a S&W, he determined it was a Colt and blew his testimony about a S&W away.
At no time was he forced to identify any gun as the S&W. He was asked if the gun he saw in the little house was present in the Coroners office and the court. He said yes and picked out a Colt, claimed it was the S&W. This proved he didn't know what he was talking about.
At any time he could have said the gun I saw in the little house and identified as a S&W is not here. Instead he said it was there and was proven wrong twice.
The Coroner said he never had more than the two Colts.
He also said he put the one retrieved from near Frank on the floor of the little house. Coroner quote concerning Keefe and Frank's gun. "Is questioned about the testimony of Thomas Keefe regarding pistol on the floor, and says he laid it there while he examined the body of Tom Mclaury, and it was the same pistol he had picked up from beside Frank McLaury. Says he received no other arms."
I think those who believe Keefe saw a S&W are down to a small band of the those who have faith in spite of everything. LOL
Tom ... this can't even explained by a lack of syntactical knowledge and experience ... he was presented with two Colts, the only ones in evidence, and denied they were the S&W he examined ... couldn'... more
